Music has always been a part of my life. I was raised in a home that appreciated many different genres of music (from Classical, Folk, Classic Rock, Blues) but the largest influence to me was likely hearing my dad sing and play his guitar at home. My parents encouraged us to play and improvise along! At the age of four I taught myself to play piano by ear and would record early compositions on the back of Fisher-Price tapes. Also, growing up in the Lutheran faith cultivated in me a rich appreciation of hymnody, choral, praise, and liturgical church music.
I graduated from a small private college in Mankato, Minnesota – Bethany Lutheran College. While there I sought out the opportunity to compose music for and work with the concert choir, ensembles, and the concert band in rehearsals. Those experiences could not be taught in a classroom. I am forever grateful for my time there. Since then, I continued my education and completed my master’s degree in music composition and technology from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
I enjoy sharing my talent and abilities to entertain, teach, and inspire others.
Glorifying God through music is my aim every time.
Every day is a new opportunity to grow in my own calling as wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I hope to shine for Christ in my role by not grumbling through the day but intentionally finding joy through Christ in the simple and even difficult things.
I married my high school sweetheart, Frank, over six years ago and have traveled the country and world to support his preparation for ministry as a Pastor.
Frank and I vowed Ruth 1:16-17 to each other at our wedding,
Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.
May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.
Little did I know that in only six years we would move eleven times – and we aren’t done yet! Our home has never been a specific location that I can point to on a map for long. I am a stay-at-home mom of daughter Fiona and son Archer. Fiona is Archer’s greatest source of entertainment and Archer is her greatest encourager! What a privilege to be home with my kids. I have learned that home is truly wherever God has called my family, whether that’s in the midwest, across the world in China, the Colorado rockies, or the heat of Texas. Home Sweet Home.
